The Education Special Interest Group (SIG) is for those who want to make a difference in the education of students that will be entering the workforce on LI. Most specifically in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) areas where you would be able to assist in the quality and exposure of these sciences to the students. There is a widening skills gap in our country, and specifically on Long Island, we are losing much of our young talent. Too few of our students are pursuing education into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) careers. Our businesses are ALL at risk if we don’t stimulate changes in how our children are educated. If you have a skill or company that can assist in one of the STEM areas, please volunteer in helping to expose your industry to the future workforce of LI. If you are part of an educational facility or district, please join us to help provide insight and connections to the students that would benefit from the business communities resources. This SIG works closely with the Connect To Tech organization and can help fill requests for company tours, speakers and job shadowing as well as internships. All are welcome!
